Abstract Residual torsion-free nilpotence has proved to be an important property for knot groups with applications bi-orderability and ribbon concordance. Mayland proposed a strategy show that two-bridge group commutator subgroup which is union of ascending chain para-free groups. This paper proves Mayland’s assertion expands the result subgroups link correspond kernels maps $\mathbb{Z}$ . We call these Alexander links. As result, we large family proof makes use modified version graph-theoretic construction Hirasawa Murasugi in order understand structure group.

We calculate the Kauffman bracket skein module (KBSM) of the complement of all two-bridge links. For a two-bridge link, we show that the KBSM of its complement is free over the ring C[t] and when reducing t = −1, it is isomorphic to the ring of regular functions on the character variety of the link group.

Legendrian Framings for Two-bridge Links

We define the Thurston-Bennequin polytope of a twocomponent link as the convex hull of all pairs of integers that arise as framings of a Legendrian representative. The main result of this paper is a description of the Thurston-Bennequin polytope for two-bridge links. As an application, we construct non-quasipositive surfaces in R all whose sub-annuli are quasipositive.

Two-sided Essential Nilpotence

An ideal I of a ring A is essentially nilpotent if I contains a nilpotent ideal N of A such that J 91N # 0 whenever J is a nonzero ideal of A contained in I. We show that each ring A has a unique largest essentially nilpotent ideal EN(A). We study the properties of EN(A) and, in particular, we investigate how this ideal behaves with respect to related rings.

Nilpotence and Torsion in the Cohomology of the Steenrod Algebra

In this paper we prove the existence of global nilpotence and global torsion bounds for the cohomology of any finite Hopf subalgebra of the Steenrod algebra for the prime 2. An explicit formula for computing such bounds is then obtained. This is used to compute bounds for H* (sán ) fer n < 6 .
